Greetings to you all from New Hampshire. I'm a child of the 1980s and started watching wrestling in the middle of that decade. I'd say that my love of wrestling belts started with the Intercontinental Championship match between Randy Savage and Ricky Steamboat at WrestleMania III. Before then, I hadn't really noticed that the different championship belts had different designs, and I loved the way that the IC belt looked. The following year, at WrestleMania IV, the Winged Eagle belt was unveiled (or so I thought - it was only recently brought to my attention that the Winged Eagle was the belt that Hulk Hogan lost to Andre the Giant earlier that year), and I fell in love with that design as well.
My first replica belt was made of foam and plastic, and I got it from the 1988 WWF Merchandise Catalog. I've picked up a few more since then (though I have no idea what happened to that first one), and BeltTalk.com seems like just about the best source there is for information on the history of championship belts, where to find them and/or have them made, etc. So that's what I'm here!
